Combine your love for travel and automobiles into a fantastic journey of discovery! Visit some of the greatest automobile museums of the world! Whether you desire to drive on the German Autobahn or leave the driving to someone else, there are a multitude of great museums to add to your itinerary. If you would like to travel with your car enthusiast friends, I will create a custom itinerary for your group to stimulate your senses! I have toured the following and am happy to share some of my favorite photos.
Are you a Porsche enthusiast? Then the Porsche Museum is a MUST SEE when in the Stuttgart Germany area. The bold and dynamic architecture of the building will awe you, as will the collection of Porsches. The philosophy of "Museum on Wheels" means the exhibition is constantly changed and vehicles are moved around to keep it interesting.
Perhaps your style is more luxurious? Then don't miss an icon of style, the Mercedes-Benz Museum also located in Stuttgart. This wonderful museum displays an archive of documents and artifacts about the company's founders, history and products. The automobile collection is incredible, with everything from the Benz Patent Motorcar to an elegant Riding Carriage, Buses and even Racing Cars.
If you are considering travel to Italy, you may want to visit Maranello which is the home of both the famous opera singer Luciano Pavarotti and that automobile with the prancing horse emblem - Ferrari! The Museo Ferrari displays many incredible machines along with historical objects related to the Italian motor racing industry. The Emilia-Romagna region of Italy has a superb reputation in traditional balsamic vinegar, Lambrusco wine and smoked meat production!
The Piemonte region is home to Turin, where you will find the Museo Nazionale Dell'Automobile. This museum has a collection of over 200 automobiles from around the world. Taken from the Museum's website "The three-storey itinerary is conceived as an emotional journey among vintage and dream cars, important prototypes and iconic models, while in the background can be heard songs from the Sixties and the roar of Formula One engines."
